Hello! My name is Leslie Coker and I am deaf (not hearing impaired). I am excited for a wonderful year here at Ignite Academy Co-op. I became deaf at the age of three after an illness with spinal meningitis. I learned how to speak and read lips all my life. I have known sign language since second grade. I received my Bachelors of Arts in Psychology from Clemson University GO TIGERS! One of my dreams came true last March 2018 and that is to teach young kids how to sign. One of my passion is to help others learn how to sign so they can communicate with deaf people. I have a son name Houston(13) who is going to 8th grade this year. I look forward working with your child!
